Chris took the time to help me

The search for the perfect wig was a long hard road for me after losing my hair during chemotherapy and I had my fair share of bad experiences! Everything from the quality of the hair, the lifespan and appearance of the wig itself, not to mention the price.

I’d given up finding my perfect hair loss solution until I met Chris, he understood my vision of how I wanted my wig to look and how the wig should perform and could actually deliver the product for a great price! Chris took the time to help me understand how the wig was made and worked closely with me to create the wig i was looking for, the colour, the length, the texture and density.

The result is a wig that is completely bespoke to me and exactly what I was looking for. It’s always a pleasure seeing Chris, he’s so friendly and welcoming and is full of great tips and tricks to extend the life of my other wigs and has now gone on to style and colour my own hair.

Although I ultimately want my hair long again Chris has done a fantastic job and given me the confidence and choice to be able to go wig free!!

An enthusiastic and capable stylist

Having been a user of hair systems for just under half a year, I have definitely experienced a fair deal of what is offered within the market, both in terms of actual systems and service.

Unfortunately, having really been let down before, I decided to search for a new stylist, and this is how I came into the hands of Chris in his private salon. I must say, the salon he has set up is very impressive, very private and organised, loaded with everything that one could possibly need – quite a step up from the last that I had visited.

Chris clearly knows what he is doing as he was constantly providing insights, hints and tricks that a ‘hair wearer’ such as myself really appreciates – it was clear that he actually cares, phew! In addition to settling my nerves, he provided an incredible colour blend for my system (which was losing its vigour) and cut in my system so that I left with an incredibly beautiful, and youthful trim. Within his salon he also a stock of all things that one might require: an abundance of different tapes and adhesives, hair systems, and more.

In my experience of wearing hair and visiting specialists, Chris is by FAR the most switched on, and for that I will hopefully be treating him as my future ‘hair carer’. If you are looking for an enthusiastic and capable stylist then look no further. He is quite busy however, so do make sure you book in advance.

It may be worth sharing that I am just 22, and living with many other young students. Regardless, my hair has survived the scrutiny of prying eyes. It really does look quite fantastic and trendy.

He knew exactly what would work for me

I visited chris today and he totally put me at ease. I do find it difficult speaking about my condition but chris was very understanding and knew exactly what would work for me. I look forward to the completed result.

Already made a difference

It’s Emma from yesterday. I just want to thank you again because what you did yesterday has already made a difference to the point that my boyfriend will be coming with me next Sunday if that’s ok with you and we had never even spoken about it before so thank you. Treated me with the upmost respect

Given me back my confidence

Having been diagnosed with frontal scarring alopecia, the hair I had always been proud of was slowly disappearing and my confidence was dying alongside it.

Despite surviving the thinning during chemotherapy over 16 years ago, this was a huge shock, knowing that unlike after the chemotherapy, this time, my hair would not grow back.

The worse thing was being advised that there was no treatment and the best thing I could do was get a wig. This was not helped by the dismissive, cold condescension of people in recommended organisations I subsequently visited.

Only by coincidence I met an old colleague and she recommended Chris Baguley to me at the Cutting Lounge in Hale. With nothing to lose, I contacted Chris and he set up an appointment within a couple of days. I entered his private consulting room with great trepidation after my previous experiences. However, I have to say that after that first consultation with Chris, my credence in people began to resurrect. I sensed his empathy and understanding of what I was experiencing. Something I did not anticipate.

I am now getting used to my “new” hair which has given me back my confidence and I owe a great deal to Chris; not only for his expertise and recommendations which have brought about exceptional results but for his compassion, consideration and respect he has shown.

It looks very natural and matches my own colour.

I am 66 years old, and in November 2020, 1 made the decision to retire from work to look after my husband who had suffered two heart attacks. Unfortunately, at the start of 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy. As I could not undergo a breast reconstruction, I was able to wear a prosthetic breast and just got on with life. However, my hair was a different situation. The toll of the radiotherapy, cancer medication, infusions etc over the past three years has had an awful effect on my hair. It became very fine all over and particularly sparse on my crown. This was made worse when I had to have my scalp shaved for skin biopsies and my hair never grew back.

I then resorted to wearing chemo hats to disguise the baldness. The baldness drastically affected my confidence which was already at rock bottom.

I didn’t want to go out socially as I felt so self conscious and felt everyone was looking at me.

From being a very sociable and confident person, I became a former shadow of myself.

That’s when Chris came to my rescue. I had been searching the internet for hair solutions and came across his website. It was his mother’s breast diagnosis and what she went through which really resonated with me, and I knew instantly he would put me at my ease and help me. The hardest bit was making the appointment. I was not disappointed, Chris’s professionalism and advising the right hair piece for me was second to none. I couldn’t wait for the fitting and once Chris had cut and styled it.

I was highly delighted with the result. It looks very natural and matches my own colour.

Although I was very nervous wearing it for the first time, it was easy to attach to my own hair and my family and friends have commented on how well l look. I just wish I had plucked up the courage and done it sooner.
