Located in Ashley, Altrincham Cheshire. I am Chris Baguley, the founder and owner who set up the Hair Loss Solutions business after my mother suffered from breast cancer, and seeing first hand how she felt during the period she lost her hair following chemotherapy treatment.
My mother received a wig from the hospital that looked exactly like a wig! It was scraggy with its synthetic hair that almost resembled wire. So I decided, as a professional hair stylist to make her a completely natural and realistic looking wig that could restore her confidence.
As a highly experienced hairdresser and hair loss solutions professional, I now provide a bespoke service that can support you through this difficult period, helping you to regain your self-esteem.

HOW LONG WILL MY WIG OR HAIR PIECE LAST?
The lifespan of your new wig or hairpiece depends on several factors, including the type of hair (synthetic or human hair), the quality of the wig, how often you wear it, and how well you care for it.
For Synthetic Wigs: Typically last about 4 to 6 months with regular wear and proper care. High-quality synthetic wigs might last a bit longer.
For Human Hair Wigs: Generally last longer than synthetic wigs, often around 1 to 3 years with regular wear and proper maintenance. High-quality human hair wigs can last even longer.
WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE MY WIG OR HAIR PIECE LAST LONGER?
To make your wig or hairpiece last as long as possible, follow these care and maintenance tips:
1. Wash your wig regularly, but not too often. Use mild, wig-specific shampoos and conditioners. For synthetic wigs, wash every 6-8 wears; for human hair wigs, every 7-14 wears.
2. Handle your wig with care. Avoid tugging or pulling, and be gentle when brushing to prevent damage. Use a wide-tooth comb or a wig brush designed for your wig type.
3. Store your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head to maintain its shape and prevent tangling. Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dust.
4. Avoid Heat. For synthetic wigs, avoid exposure to heat from styling tools or hot environments, as this can damage the fibers. Use heat-protectant sprays and low-heat settings for human hair wigs if heat styling is necessary.
5. Minimize friction by avoiding excessive rubbing against clothing or pillowcases. Consider using a silk or satin pillowcase and wearing a wig cap underneath.
6. Perform regular maintenance, such as detangling and conditioning. For human hair wigs, deep conditioning treatments can help maintain moisture and softness.
7. Avoid harsh chemicals and products not designed for wigs, such as hair sprays, gels, or dyes, unless specified as safe for your wig type.
8. Consider professional cleaning and styling services, especially for human hair wigs, to ensure proper care and longevity.
When hair starts falling out, do I need to get a new hair system?
Hair systems do not last forever because the hair does not have our natural oils to protect it.
I can have hair added to your current hair system, but I don’t recommend it. By the time your hair system has thinned noticeably, the hair is already drying out as well. In addition, the base may have begun to fray. By the time you pay for repairs and shipping, it really makes more sense to order a new unit. But if you just can’t bear to part with a favourite hair system, I can have hair added for a charge of £80.00 + shipping.
